Well, it’s really starting to feel more like we’re heading towards Christmas now. Colder mornings, nights drawing in, and great new offers in our Spar each week leading up to the festive season. We will be open right up until 8 pm on Christmas Eve for all your last-minute gifts and supplies. Our shop staff then have a well-earned rest on Christmas Day and Boxing Day before re-opening at 7.30am on Wednesday 27th December. After that, we open for our normal hours apart from being closed on New Year’s Day. Believe it or not, that will be the last day we are closed until Christmas Day next year! The moves towards more local produce continues, with new products being added to the range nearly every week. Look out for them as they often make excellent gift ideas, although some are just too good to give away! This is obviously a particularly busy time of year in our Post Office. If you need information on the last posting dates before Christmas, these can be found at https://www.postoffice.co.uk/christmas/last-posting-dates or just pop into the Spar store and we will be happy to help. Our workshop and vehicle rental opening hours will be displayed on the Reception door so just call in or phone us if you would like to hire a car or van or book an MOT or service/repair.
There have been a couple staff changes recently. Jeff Leach has joined our Spar and Post Office team, bringing many years of Post Office experience to our store. Dave Moore is now working with me as a Service and Rental Advisor and has settled in really well.
We have now completed our move to LED lighting across the whole site, with recent upgrades to the workshop and store areas. This has made a big difference to the environmental impact of the business, as well as improving conditions for our staff and customers alike.
The early hours of Saturday, January 6th once again see Musbury Garage being used as a refuelling stop and Control Point for the Exeter Trial. This is a historic motorsport event which has been running since 1910. If you are interested, take a look at the MCC website https://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/ , or if you are an insomniac, call into the forecourt between 2.30am and 6 am and see some of the cars and motorcycles at close quarters. Competitors are asked in advance to be quiet in the vicinity of the Garage, but inevitably with engines being started during unsociable hours, there will always be higher noise levels than you would normally expect on a Friday night, so apologies in advance if anyone gets disturbed by the event.
All that’s left is for me to thank all our customers for your support during 2017 and wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2018.
