Christmas and New Year seem a dim and distant memory, but I hope you all had a good one. January seemed endless and cold, February isnât much better, but we are going in the right direction. If you want a touch of Spring to cheer you up, treat yourself to a bunch of Cornish daffodils for only £1; they do lift your spirits and make you think Spring is on the way. In addition, 1p from each bunch goes direct to Marie Curie.
Mothering Sunday is on March 11th; treat your special lady to a card, box of chocolates, a bouquet of flowers or a bottle of wine (or all four!). We have a new selection of boxed chocolates, something a bit different to the norm. We will open our usual hours of 8pm to 8pm on that Sunday, just in case you forget to buy anything before! Thoughts then turn to Easter. Easter Sunday is April 1st, and we have a lovely range of chocolate eggs to suit everyone, as well as hot-cross buns, Easter biscuits and cakes. The store will be open all over Easter, so weâll be here on Easter Day if you need an extra treat or a forgotten essential.
At the beginning of January, we opened overnight as a refuelling and control point for the MCC Exeter Trial; it was a very cold but dry night. They really are a great bunch and are always so grateful that we open especially for them. They refuel on petrol and Red Bull, Julian and I refuel on Lavazza coffee and Evershot lardy cake; you canât beat it at 3am on a cold and dark January night.
You have probably seen that we now have a section of âFree-Fromâ foods including bread, cakes, biscuits, rolls, pasta, rice and cereals; we even have a gluten-free beer. Obviously, due to space restrictions we cannot stock everything but if there is anything that you would like please mention it when you are in the store and we will do our best to get it in for you.
